Identification of energy-efficient solutions for broiler house envelopes through a primary energy approach

One of the main concerns regarding intensive broiler production is high use energy for climate control. An improved design house envelopes could decrease this consumption. Current evaluation methods only consider delivered energy, which misleading because it does not entire supply chain. By contrast, primary encompasses all forms direct e.g. thermal and electrical, that are supplied to house, including losses along In work, approaches adopted identify most energy-efficient solution in typical European houses. This work evaluates 18 scenarios characterized by three different envelope types six outdoor weather conditions. Financial aspects evaluated through global cost analysis.
